This Bi-Metallic screw is comprised of two metal types – the point is manufactured from heat treated high carbon steel for self-drilling performance and the head is manufactured from corrosion resistant stainless steel (304).
The two metals are fused together along the shaft to form a screw that offers excellent self-drilling properties combined with exceptional corrosion resistance.
The screws are finished with a metallic zinc layer followed by a baked top coat that provides an extra layer of corrosion protection and lubrication. This protective coating has the additional benefit of reducing the electrolytic corrosion potential and has a 1000hr salt spray rating.
Ensure that the full tip and a few threads protrude past the metal for full strength.
